About Me

My photo
I'm finally moving towards owning my own painting company, after wanting one of almost 25 years. I've been gaining experience of painting for others for years, which I've truly enjoyed. I'm back in school, earning another degree, but this time in Business. By having the knowledge of the behind the scenes in business, I feel I'll have a greater advantage in direction I'm headed. I look forward to overcoming obstacles and moving toward my goal of being a successful business owner. The purpose of the blog is to track my progress, from overcoming my fears, to tracking my successes.

Reclaiming What is Mine

I calculated the number of hours I am going to add back to my day when I officially retire and become a stay-at-home mom (end of May) and if the math is correct, I will have 10 hours to reclaim as my own. I never thought about how long I am gone from the home on any given day of the week. That is alot of hours away from the home. I am very excited about coming home and being able to take care of my family and being able to pursue some interests. Here are some things I can do with those extra 10 hours and not in any particular order:
1. add 10 hours back to my day
2. release 8 1/2 years of the stress of me working
3. study the scriptures more
4. scrapbook all day if I want to
5. give service to others
6. visit Granny and Grampie during the day
7. grocery shop during the day
8. VT during the day instead of at night
9. genealogy
10. go to the Temple weekly
11. cook breakfast and dinner on time for my family
12. keep a clean house 24/7
13. declutter the house
14. have plenty of time to procrastinate
15. learn to sew
16. take Forrest to seminary (August)
17. exercise
18. take a nap
19. visit my friends
20. learn my camera/photography
21. check my email antime during the day
22. read friends blog/update my blog daily
23. write and mail off letters
24. watch a movie
25. organize my pantries/cabinets
26. stay in my PJ's all day
27. take a bubble bath
28. play with Carhartt/walk Carhartt
29. provide more structure for the family
30. go to my scrapbbok retreat at Red Rooster without having to take a personal day and try to find a substitute!

If you could have an extra 10 hours of the day, what would you want to do?

Hmmmm....10 extra hours? I wouldn't want anymore because I would find things that needed to be done and I have enough already! What I need is to allow myself time to do the things I use to! It is hard when you know there is a seminary lesson to study or other stuff to prepare for!

I am excited for you to come home, reclaim those 10 hours and then complain to me that there isn't enough time in the day to get it all done!!! Ha!!

You will be suprised at how much the univerise gives you to do when it knows you have extra time!!

Love the mailbox picture TJ!! I don't know how to make it centered. I wonder if it is left-centered because the rest of your blog is centered that way???

I am excited for you to learn photography so you can take pics of my family also!!

I'm very happy for your extra 10 hours! Like M.K. said, you'll soon find that "something" is taking up your time and you might not like it! I'm very proud of you for coming home. There will be a period of adjustment but soon you'll have the time to do all that you want to do.

Don't hold your breath. They will probably call you as RS pres. Then you'll have to add more hours to your day.
