About Me

My photo
I'm finally moving towards owning my own painting company, after wanting one of almost 25 years. I've been gaining experience of painting for others for years, which I've truly enjoyed. I'm back in school, earning another degree, but this time in Business. By having the knowledge of the behind the scenes in business, I feel I'll have a greater advantage in direction I'm headed. I look forward to overcoming obstacles and moving toward my goal of being a successful business owner. The purpose of the blog is to track my progress, from overcoming my fears, to tracking my successes.

Post Christmas

Is your tree still up? Christmas decorations still out? I am just curious as to how fast and when your family cleans up after Christmas. Are you ready to pack them up or are you wanting to enjoy them throughout the month of January too? I often catch myself of saying we do not have many "traditions" in our family and after I said it, I realize that we have had a tradition for almost 15 years...putting up all Christmas decorations by 12 noon Christmas Day. We are so ready to have our house back from the decorations! How quickly do you pack away your decorations after Christmas?

This year it was on Tues. and we had a family reunion the rest of the week but New years eve we had all our stuff packed away. Most years it is all put away Usually before New Years Eve! I'm like you I want my house back. The funny thing is that we always ask "is that everything". And when we think we found all the decorations we open the attic and up it all goes. Then a few days later we find something that was left out.

we usually get ours up pretty quickly after Christmas also but this year I wanted to wait until Richard could help which meant it wasn't until New Years Eve/Day that they finally got put up! I like your tradition of pulling it all down on Christmas Day!

When we were growing up we did have the tradition of seeing if we could get our presents open BEFORE Christmas:) "What is this...a hole in the wrapping paper....oh no it is torn I guess I should just open it all the way" :)

It depends on how early I get the decorations out. If it's the 1st of Dec., then I'm usually tired of all the dusty decorations. If I wait until the 2nd week of Dec., I like to leave them up 'till New Years. I tend to throw away something each year, and then there's the box of ornaments that I can't find...Next year maybe I'll get something new and hope I remember what I do with them!
